While visiting Mothers Freaks swapmeet last weekend we had a chat with Daniel Fogell – Fogell Customs and his new business partners Carl Johan Holmros and Michael Hallgren in Black Moon Chopper Parts.

Daniel Fogell started his business mostly as to give himself a challenge of being better on what he already did.

– Making parts and frames to a customer demands perfect quality, so when I thought I did good the busniess forced me to be even better. If you pay for something you like to have it perfect and thats what I try to deliver.

Working offshore he did split his time in two. 50 % procent welding for a pay check and the other half in his custom work shop in Gothenburg.

During the spring 2018 he felt he had so many customers, frames to build and parts to manufacture he decided to guit his every-second-day-job and make it a go with 100 % Fogell Customs.

Since Daniel seems to be more of a creator and manufacturer he allied with two other crazy chopper freaks, Michael Hallgren and Carl Johan Holmros and together they started Black Moon Chopper Parts. The main idea was to design cool stuff for choppers and have them manufactured by Fogell Customs. The brand Black Moon Chopperparts is equal to good quality, swedish made, small batches of more or less unique ad-ons like brackets, kick pedals, air cleaners, lamps, sissy bars as well as casted frame parts.

Daniel Fogell have built a few bikes both for customers and for himself. Both at Moon Bike Show in Avesta and at Elmia Custom Motor Show you will be able to have a look at his last build. Except for winning the Best-paint-job-award at Oslo Motor Show and being second best bobber at Elmia last year, one really interesting thing about this SFRO-bobber/chopper is the weight. 200 kg is not much if you compare to a stock rigid bike that has a weight of almost 300 kg.

– A lot of it is the frame I made, but every kilo counts so a smaller gas tank and so on makes it possible.

Daniel Fogell is no rookie and neither are his businesspartners in Black Moon Chopper Parts, but in this business many of us has been around for 30-40 years and that makes him, his buddys and his business part of the bright future of the Swedish chopper legacy.

We will visit Daniel and his two companys Fogell Customs and Black Moon Chopper parts later on this spring, so stay tuned.
