Last year we met #23 Jefferey Carver who is the last flat track rider to take a win on Harley Davidsons iconic XR750, but for all of us following American flat track this season has ment another shot for the bike. Dodge Brothers who has been involved in the pro circuit for many years offerd their XR to #69 “Slammin” Sammy Halbert and he said yes. The first apperance at the season opener was crazy when he not only won the dash for cash ( four fastest riders of qualification ) he also claimed a fantastic second place leading the race until the last lap. With a more than 50 year old bike. The XR750 means a lot to many and to the sport and to watch it at the tracks again made Sammy Halbert joining the select crowd of as much iconic riders. Last weekend we had the pleasure to meet him and we made a 40 minutes long interview that will be published during this week. American flat track has made some huge changes for next season and except for lots of interesting and fun facts of Sammy himself we also gets his point of view of whats going on “over there”. Stay tuned.
