Det är verkligen en vår som heter duga. Inte nog med att det verkar bli en tidig variant rent vädermässigt, det är massor av roligt som händer, varje helg framöver. Kanske det inte längre blir något vinteruppehåll utan snarare flera säsonger med nåt både att köra och glo på. Hur som helst i helgen som strax är till ända slogs det nya rekord på Årsundaisen under Speedweekend och för den som inte varit där, planera in det till nästa år, det är definitivt nåt som bör finnas med på var och ens bucketlist.
Kommande helg är det ytterliggare ett listmåste, Moon Bike Show på Verket i Avesta. Håkan Johanssons årligen återkommande hojbyggartillställning samlar det mesta av det bästa och det är kanske just där många av vinterns byggen för första gången möter den kanske framförallt chopperfanatiska publiken från hela Sverige. Håkan verkar också ha den där perfekta fingertoppskänslan på att plocka ihop byggen av olika genre och få till en mix med nåt för alla oavsett om man nördat in på det ena eller det andra.
Under fjolårets Moon bike show, var det ingen smal sak att tippa vinnare av dom olika klasserna och det fina med hojbyggandet är just att det egentligen inte handlar om vad som är bäst eller snyggast utifrån någon fastslagen norm, allt är tillåtet och skönheten ligger i betraktarens ögon. It really is a spring worth the name. Not only does it seem to be an early version weather-wise, there’s lots of fun happening, every weekend ahead. Maybe there will no longer be a winter break, but rather several seasons with something both to ride at and look at. Anyway, this weekend, which is just about to end, new records was broken at Årsunda ice during Speedweekend and for those who haven’t been there, plan it for next year, it’s definitely something that should be on everyone’s bucket list.
Next weekend there is another must-do for the list, the Moon Bike Show at Verket in Avesta. Håkan Johansson’s annual bike builder event gathers most of the best and it is perhaps precisely where many of the winter’s builds meet the, above all, chopper fanatic audience from all over Sweden for the first time. Håkan also seems to have the perfect knack for picking out builds from different genres and creating a mix with something for everyone, regardless of whether you’re into one or the other kind of looks.
During last year’s Moon bike show, it was no small matter to guess the winners of the various classes and the beauty of bike building is precisely that it is not really about what is the best or prettiest based on any established standard, everything is allowed and the beauty lies in the viewer eyes.
