På fredag drar årets Flat track-weekend i Vetlanda igång och under två dagar kommer ett sjuttiotal förare mötas under två olika tävlingar. På fredagen kör vi Trotteln i Taket där hojar och moppar tillverkade före 1985 möts i en alla mot all form på hela 24 heat plus två finaler. Reglerna är enkla och här handlar det mest om att ha kul och att vinna publikens hjärta eftersom det är just publiken som utser kvällens vinnare i det blanfdade startfältet. Järnsportsrar, en och annan tidig evo, Blue arrows, trajjor blandat med japanska stånkor från tidigt 80 tal och årets kanske mesta raritet en Husqvarna No30. Så här ser tidsschemat för fredagen ut:

På Lördag är det dags för den femte upplagan av Monkey Race Day som också är årets final i den nordisk cupen – Viking Flat Track Cup 2025. I år har det redan körts två deltävlingar, båda i Finland och till Vetlanda kommer det största startfältet hittills i år. Drygt 60 förare från hela Norden har registrerat sig för cupen och till Vetlanda kommer nära 50 av dom för att slåss om titeln Nordisk mästare 2025.
I startfältet finns det flera VM-förare och inte minst flera flerfaldiga värlsdmästare. Gillar du grus, fart och motorcyklar av alla sorter från dom fina rariteterna pre 1959 där HD WL/KR verkar blivit den mest populära cykeln, till 70-talets Real Deal cyklar, dom rena specialbyggda flat trackcyklarna i Thunderbike med bland annat ett par XR750 till klassen där det kanske går allra snabbast Pro Open där ombyggda 450-crossar dominerar då ska du inte missa detta. Årets tävling inleds med tre heat bestående av dom fyra snabbaste förarna i tre olika grupper som kör om potten i Dash for Cash. Grym underhållning och grym fart utlovas.

On Friday this year’s Flat track weekend in Vetlanda starts and over two days around seventy riders will meet in two different races. On Friday we will be racing Trotteln i Taket where bikes and mopeds manufactured before 1985 meet in an all-out race with over 24 heats plus two finals. The rules are simple and here it is mostly about having fun and winning the hearts of the audience because it is the audience that will choose the winner of the evening in the mixed starting field. Ironheads, early evos, Blue arrows, Triumphs mixed with Japanese bikes from the early 80s and perhaps the most rarity of the year a Husqvarna No30.

On Saturday it is time for the fifth edition of Monkey Race Day which is also the final of the Nordic Cup – Viking Flat Track Cup 2025. This year there have already been two rounds, both in Finland and the largest starting field so far this year is coming to Vetlanda. Just over 60 riders from all over the Nordic region have registered for the cup and nearly 50 of them are coming to Vetlanda to fight for the title of Nordic Champion 2025.
The starting field includes several World Championship riders and not least several multiple world champions. If you like gravel, speed and motorcycles of all kinds from the nice rarities pre-1959 where the HD WL/KR seems to have become the most popular bike, to the Real Deal bikes of the 70s, the pure custom-built flat track bikes in Thunderbike with, among other things, a couple of XR750s to the class where it is perhaps fastest Pro Open where converted 450-MX bikes dominate, then you should not miss this. This year’s race starts with three heats consisting of the four fastest riders in three different groups competing in the Dash for Cash. Great entertainment and great speed are promised.
