Det börjar bli dags att anmäla sig till Vetlandas två högtidsdagar. Trotteln i Taket rundbanerejset för den gasglade gammelhojsåkaren blev som vanligt snabbt fullt när vi öppnade för anmälan. Det enkla konceptet med kom och åk med vad du har tilltalar och i år drar vi ännu mer på att kul är fokus och utmanar deltagarna till snajsigaste stassen på banan. I år öppnade vi också anmälan till Monkey Race days tidigt eftersom vi lagt dom båda rejsen till samma helg. “Monkey” är en regelrätt tävling, där det krävs licens och lite mer arbete för att bygga en regelmässig cykel. Klassen Rookie är undantaget, där i princip det mesta är tillåtet utom nabbadäck och frambroms. En grym instegsklass för dig som vill känna på tävlande på lite mer allvar. Sista anmälningsdatum till Monkey Race Days är den 15 juni, men ju snabbare din anmälan kommer in desto bättre förutsättningar för oss att planera och förbereda. Monkey Race Days är också den tredje deltävlingen i Viking Flat Track Cup som går med tre deltävlingar i Sverige och den fjärde sista i Vinsvoll i Norge. Cupen körs för andra året och nya banor i år är Malmö och Örebro. Att delta i cupen väljer är ett extra tillval och du väljer detta när du anmäler dig. Har du bara snuddat på Flat track och vill bli lite varm ikläderna anordnar många banor träningstillfällen och här i Vetlanda har vi den 13 maj en en-dagarskurs för den som vill få lite tips från coachen. It’s time to register for Vetlanda’s own two festive days. The Throttle in the Roof dirt track race for the speed freaks and vintage loving riders quickly filled up, as usual, when we opened for registration. The simple concept of come and ride with what you have appeals and this year we draw even more on the fact that fun is the focus and challenge the participants to the smartest dress at the track. After receiving two rejections, there is another chance for those who didn’t make it to the first chance, and signing up is as easy as sending an email to info@theevilmonkey.se with your name, address, phone and some information about your ride. This year we also opened registration for Monkey Race Days early because we put both races on the same weekend. “Monkey” is a regular competition, where a license and a little more work is required to build a regular bike. The Rookie class is the exception, where in principle most things are allowed except stud tires and front brakes. A great entry-level class for those who want to get a feel for competing a little more seriously. The deadline for registration for Monkey Race Days is June 15, but the sooner your registration comes in, the better the conditions for us to plan and prepare. Monkey Race Days is also the third round of the Viking Flat Track Cup which goes with three parts in Sweden and the fourth last in Vinsvoll in Norway. The cup runs for the second year and new tracks this year are Malmö and Örebro. Participating in the cup is an extra option and you choose this when you register. If you’ve only had a go at flat track and want to warm up a bit, many tracks organize practise sessions, and here in Vetlanda we have a one-day course on May 13 for those who want to get some tips from the coach.
